Throughout all of the 21st century, humanity has acquired interstellar navigation technology. Then, over the next century, it continued to pioneer colonized planets. Its power spread throughout the Orion arm, and the Earth developed as the central world of humankind.
The Earth Government establishes the Earth/Solar System Coalition (Star Federation) to govern an increasing number of colonial planets. Troops are placed in all star systems and colonial planets are put under martial law. Although colonial planetary countries were granted basic rights, their autonomy was extremely limited, and they did not deviate from the earth-centered social form.
